What are your plans after attending Black Hawk College?
The student's plans after attending Black Hawk College will help determine the best course of study. Students who wish to earn a bachelor's degree are not advised to complete a career program at Black Hawk College; however, students may elect to earn a career certificate and/or degree knowing they will pursue a bachelor's degree at a later time. You should inform the student of the transferability of career courses and how this may impact time to completion. Students who decide to earn a traditional bachelor of arts or science degree soon after attending Black Hawk College, should be advised to enter a transfer program to complete general education courses required for transfer and freshman/sophomore courses required for their major.
Where do you plan to transfer?
Community college students who wish to transfer should be encouraged to identify a transfer institution as soon as possible. Requirements for the general education and major requirements often differ from school to school. For example, some colleges may have a foreign language, health or physical education requirement while others do not.
